Dear colleagues, as the Executive Chairman of ISMSICS, I am feeling very proud that we have started this global SICS training program . This intermediate course encompasses multiple aspects of SISC surgery.
Cataract surgery has now become a refractive surgery as well. Hence precice biometry either optical or ultrasound has become a vital part of surgery for the proper outcome of surgery. The intraoculur power calculation formulae have been evolving rapidly. The details will be discussed in respective session. The construction of scleral tunnel is the most important part of SICS surgery. In fact, scleral tunnel is the heart of Manual SICS surgery. Improper construction of tunnel can result in multiple complication. SICS gives a good opportunity to negate the pre existing astigmatism. In this course one can learn how to customise the incision to correct the pre existing astigmatism.
Most of our conferences teach us a lot about the techniques of surgery and management of complications. Not much stress is given on pre operstive checklist and the final checklist before completion of surgery. Our course will adress all these meticulous details. On behalf of the ISMSICD GSICSTP team, I wish you all a very happy viewing and happy learning.
